Also we get to answer your viewer mail, talk about Witchtrap (which JSB has never seen) and wonder what would happen when a genetically enhanced creature gets totally horned up and goes on a rape craze in Splice.  Check it out.

Todd E. Freeman Reveals the Short Film “M is for Marriage” for the ABC’s of Death 2 Film Competition

1

Portland, Oregon – Polluted Pictures (Cell Count) and Lyon Films (The Tell) are proud to announce their new film “M is for Marriage” is now available for viewing on the ABC’s of Death 2 film competition page. This competition will select the 26th director and film for the upcoming horror title ABC’s of Death 2.

“M is for Marriage” is a peek into the world of our next feature film “Love Sick.” Writer and director Todd E. Freeman says: “that being said, it never would have been made unless the competition to find the 26th director for ABC’s of Death 2 had been announced at the exact time it was. “Love Sick” is a very personal project that is based in a very real time in my life when I wasn’t sure if I was going to be with the woman that I loved until the day I died. On one hand this is very much an examination of love and the physical/emotional pain that comes from it. On the other bigger hand… well… it’s a badass gore filled monster movie!”

Official synopsis: “M is for Marriage” is about Dr. Christian, who has been a therapist for 15 years, and he is the foremost expert in the controversial field of Bio-Medical Psychotherapy. His most recent case involves a husband and wife who are looking for either closure or a path back toward healing. Their stress has hit a critical stage and must be confronted in what Dr. Christian calls a Bio-Transference session. This 3 minute peek will show that session.

“M is for Marriage” stars actress Natalie Victoria (Deadheads) and Jeffree Newman.

The ABCS of Death 2 competition decides the top 12 films in two ways: six will be chosen by Public Vote and the other six will be selected via a panel of genre aficionados made up of ABCs Of Death producers: Tim League and Ant Timpson, Associate Producer Ted Geoghegan, Horror-Movie-A-Day Founder Brian Collins, Entertainment Weekly Senior Editor Clark Collis, author Grady Hendrix, and Fangoria Managing Editor Michael Gingold. These lucky finalists will then go on to the final judging round, where the sequel’s 25 other directors – esteemed names such as Alex De La Iglesia, Bill Plympton, Vincenzo Natali, The Twisted Twins, and Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo – will select the final winner to be included in ABCs of Death 2 film..

The teaser trailer for “M is for Marriage” is available for viewing below and the entire film includes Portuguese and Spanish subtitles for the genre fans in Latin America.

The Drive-In Horrorshow comic book will be released one page at a time, every week, starting on 10/18/13

About the Comic Book

The Drive-In Horrorshow comic book, which is currently available in print, spawned from the Drive-In Horrorshow film. The Drive-In Horrorshow film is a feature-length anthology movie comprised of five stories in the tradition of Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow, and it has received great press and is currently available for purchase, rental, and VOD through Midnight Releasing.

The comic book takes place in the same world as the film, but tells a separate story called “The Good Luck Charm”. When a desperate man loans a family heirloom to an antique store, one of the store owners tries to take it for himself. But he soon realizes that greed comes with a price…and he might not live to reap his reward. Filled with blood, guts, and tension, this story is not for the faint of heart.

The comic book will be released one page at a time, starting on October 18th 2013 and finishing in October 2014. Each page will be accompanied by a blog written by one of the comic’s four creators: Michael Neel, the film’s director; Greg Ansin, the film’s producer; Jerem Morrow, the comic’s Illustrator and adapter; and Shi Blank, the comic’s colorist and graphics creator.

Infinite Santa 8000: Official Video on Demand Release and Artwork Reveal!

Infinite Santa 8000: Official Video on Demand Release and Artwork Reveal!

Infinite Santa 8000 will available on Video on Demand December 1st, 2013. Official carriers to be announced.

About the Film

Infinite Santa 8000 is the feature length story based on the popular web series of the same name. The original Web Series is 13 episodes long on YouTube which features the same lead characters (Santa, Dr Shackleton, and Martha) but tells a separate story from the film. With a view count of over 720,000 views, the series has garnered a cult following of fans demanding more content. Filmmakers Michael Neel and Greg Ansin, the team behind Midnight Releasing’s Drive-In Horrorshow and the Web Series, decided to give the fans what they want. They took the characters and the universe and have created a full length film with a simple concept: A cyborg Santa Claus killing mutants and robo-people in a vast post apocalyptic wasteland in the year 8000.  With a heavy metal soundtrack, the film features epic battle scenes, violent killing, and a 100-Foot Evil Easter Bunny.

Synopsis

A thousand years ago the world completely collapsed. Not much remains, except for the mutants, scum, and robo-people. Everyone must kill to survive.

Even Santa.

It is the year 8000. War, famine, and disease have ravaged the earth, transforming it into an inhospitable, desolate wasteland. Infinite Santa – half human and half machine – survives any way he can in this bleak world. Despite his tough existence, Infinite Santa still dreams of keeping the Christmas spirit alive by spreading goodwill and cheer to the nice people of the world.  But as the years have passed it has become harder for Infinite Santa. Instead of good people, all he finds are evildoers and hideous, no-good robo-mutations.

His one ray of hope is Martha, a robot girl full of the Christmas spirit. He rescued her from a deadly situation, and now she is like a daughter to him. They have a hard life but a good one, living on Santa’s ranch with his robo-reindeer. But Santa’s luck is about to run out. Santa’s arch-enemy, the evil mad scientist Dr. Shackleton, has found Santa again. Shackleton hates Santa and his stupid holiday, and will stop at nothing to uncover Infinite Santa’s mysterious secrets…and then destroy Infinite Santa once and for all. Dr. Shackleton is no fool. He knows how powerful Infinite Santa is, and has built an army to destroy him and Martha. Batsharks, Crabmonkeys, Dragonfly Snakes, Octo-Blobs, and Skin-Bots – and if they can’t kill Infinite Santa, a 100-foot Evil Easter Bunny should do the trick.

This fight will test Infinite Santa to his limits. He’ll need machine guns, flamethrowers, machetes, knives, jet packs, ornament grenades, and everything else in his arsenal just to survive.
