‘Newlyweds of Horror’ Evan & Kerry Marlowe to infect North America on DVD and VOD March 4th, 2014

 

Brain Damage films is set to unleash Blood Rush on DVD and VOD in North America on March 4, 2014. Availability will include all major and minor Cable/Satellite VOD operators as well as major internet platforms including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu, Xbox Video and more. DVD bonus features will include an audio commentary track and a featurette about the film’s premiere with Q&A.

About the Film
Blood Rush, the second feature written by Kerry Finlayson and directed by Evan Marlowe (the so-called “Newlyweds of Horror” and creators of Horror House), is a new take on the zombie/afflicted genre which brings an unique atmosphere, story, and cult-retro feel to the screen.  Viewers looking for flesh-eating fun and dark humor will get their money’s worth from the film, as well as viewers who like a little more substance and will appreciate the subtle underlying social commentary.

 

Blood Rush took home both the Kahuna Gold Award at the 2013 Honolulu Film Awards and the Best Music Soundtrack Award at the 2012 Tabloid Witch Awards.

Synopsis

When a small town is overcome with a blood lust the local witch doctor is thought to be the source. What they don’t know is that he has a different agenda. Five friends fight for their lives when there seems no escaping from the town and the virus that follows them. One by one the sickness tries to take hold of them and no-one knows who is infected and who is safe.

VIRGINIA OBSCURA (Dir: Toby Osborne, premiering February 21st, 2014)
Director Toby Osborne’s art-house slasher mystery is a contemporary giallo and stars the legendary Linnea Quigley (who also stars in Full Moon’s new upcoming web series TROPHY HEADS) and rising scream queen Jessica Cameron in a dreamy, sleazy low budget gem of voyeuristic terror.

VILLANELLE (Dir.Rick Laprade, premiering February 28th, 2014)
This jet black and atmospheric shocker is a masterclass in making a massive impact with very little money and plenty of style. In it, an alcoholic detective gets sucked into a nightmarish world when he finds a girl, nearly dead and with dark secrets that slowly alter his perceptions of his own reality.

Billy just finished cutting the movie and he is telling me that (and I quote him,) “2014 is going to be the year of the clown.”

Author Matt Demas is back with his latest book that is a lot different than his past books that have dealt with fiction aka his favorite subject:  zombies in Pittsburgh. He takes a whack at non-fiction with his latest creation about a little known tragic event that happened early summer of 1960. Where four early twenty-somethings went camping and three died brutally while one survived after the horrific ordeal. The four friends were a perfect group of friends that were torn apart by something evil but it became much more than the normal murder case that went unsolved for years until 2004 where the book begins? Where a young detective brings into the interrogation room an older man in his late 60s by the name of Byron, and he just so happens to be the lone survivor of the brutal attack at Lake Bodom! The authorities or I should say a detective who worked the case as a rookie begins to ask him questions believing there is a lot more to the story, the legend, or the unsolved cold case 44 years later. Mr. Demas takes you through the whole ordeal of the brutal event in 1960 and even throws out his own theories that make you think what really happened. Matt Demas did a great job of making the book a fast read for people and that is saying something since it takes me forever to read books. Plus, Demas for his first non-fiction outing has written a book that is perfect for readers who enjoy consuming themselves with unsolved mysteries, cold cases, hell I was waiting for Mulder and Scully to show up at the end to declare it an X-file. For me Matt still young and it shows in his writing, has grown and made huge strides to make the transition from writing fiction to non-fiction. This to me makes me believe Matt is just beginning to become an accomplished writer for the long run and other readers of his books should feel the same way after reading his latest book. I give the book 3 ½ out of 4 stars and the book is available on amazon.com.

2 Bedroom 1 Bath “Evil Lives Here!”

Al Bravo Studios and Chemical Mind Studios are proud to announce that the independent horror feature 2 Bedroom 1 Bath will launch in theatres January 31st, 2014! This compelling feature hosts a well known cast, including: prolific actor Eric Roberts, horror veteran Dee Wallace, rising star Andrew W. Walkers and starlette Shelby Young. One part The Grudge (2004) and one part Rosemary’s Baby (1968), 2 Bedroom 1 Bath involves one young couple’s torment, during the birth of their first child. A nightmare is born in the New Year!

2 Bedroom 1 Bath is a supernatural ghost story, which focuses on Kevin (Walker) and Rachel (Hicks). At first, they are rejoiced as expectant parents. But, something is not right. The couple experience strange visions and frightening nightmares as the birth of their child draws closer. Rachel and Kevin must deal with a supernatural entity, which wants to haunt their perfect, new home and newborn child.

This terrifying feature will play in several theatres, across the world. 2 Bedroom 1 Bath will play in the city of Los Angeles and in the States of Louisiana and Texas. As well, the film will play globally, in Russia and several South American countries. Several more theatres locations will be announced as the film draws closer to its January 31st, 2014 launch date. This year was pretty awesome. I want to say thanks and merry christmas to all the people who guest hosted and the fine folks we had the great opportunity to interview. Local film “Croaker” Announces Official Release Date

McMurray, PA – December 11, 2013 – McMurray Filmmaker, Fred Terling, announces his independent feature film, Croaker, will officially release February 1, 2014.

 

The film is currently wrapping post-production and scheduled for world-wide release on February 1, 2014. Initial distribution of the film has been secured for Amazon, iTunes, Netflix and Hulu Plus. A local premier is being planned as well as several local screenings.

 

“This film has been a labor of love. From writing and filming in my hometown, to local businesses to the amazing cast, I couldn’t have dreamed of such support. It is indescribable to be able to accomplish a life-long dream,” Fred Terling said.

 

Team Croaker ALSO understands having a finished film is only the start of the process.
