Mini-Grossfest is one week away!

0

One week away… Early weather forecast (High 63, in the morning 48 with sun and a slight chance of showers in afternoon).  Dress accordingly my friends!

We wanna thank the Willow Station Restaurant and Bar in Castle Shannon, Pa. for helping us to have our first outdoor event. Second, we wanna thank all the vendors that are going to be a part of the event. Third and most important “The EVENT IS FREE” to attendees, the public, whatever you wanna call the people from around the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas that are coming to check out all the great vendors, filmmakers, authors, artists, etc., that will be there. So let your mum, your dad, yinz lovers, your partner, your neighbors’ n’at, even the people you dislike know to come visit our event. All we at Grossfest are kindly asking is for people to head into the Willow Station Restaurant at some point because hell you are already there to see all of us so go have a drink or better yet have brunch as it starts at 11am! Point is people it’s been a hard two years for all of us. This is another step in making a bigger Grossfest happen again but also we want you to have more money in your pocket to spend on the vendors, filmmakers, etc… again THE EVENT IS FREE TO GET IN! Plus the whole point of Grossfest is to introduce you to independent filmmakers, authors, artists and to have fun doing it like “conventions used to be!”

So again May 1st, 10am-3pm in the back parking lot of Willow Station Bar/Restaurant. There will be parking out in front along the street (most of the public parking side lot will be taken up by vendors)

First, I wanna thank the Willow Station Restaurant and Bar in Castle Shannon, Pa. for helping to have our first outdoor event and we have sold out. Second, wanna thank all the vendors that are going to be a part of the event. (There will be a list of vendors posted soon.) Sorry we had to turn a few away but like we said from the beginning it was limited space, first come, first served. Third and most important because I have already fielded a couple questions from a couple people concerning about this? The EVENT IS FREE to attendees, the public, whatever you wanna call the people from around the Pittsburgh area coming to check out all the great vendors that will be there. And for our last guest announcement is a person who is a late bloomer to be an independent horror movie fan and supporter (Jagoff Massacre changed everything)… A person who believed in Grossfest before anyone else and is the main driving force behind the event, I may be the face but he is why it happens, he recently made his film debut in “Spirit Animal” and has several other film appearances coming in the next year or so, he is known for his fishing and nicknamed “the OG” (Original Gross) and he will be there signing copies of “Spirit Animal” and selling Grossfest T-shirts I present to you: The famous and star of “Spirit Animal”… Tom Gross!

Willow Station Restaurant & Bar

3841 Willow Ave.,

Castle Shannon, Pa. 15234

July 25-26th, 2020 at The George Washington Hotel in Washington, Pa.

http://www.grossfest.com

(Last update before the show: Tim Gross here, honestly people we are all scared with what is going on in the world. But if this is the new normal then we are ready to roll: grab your mask, we got the hand sanitizer, the social distancing of vendors and guests will be in place, and be respectful to your fellow human.  All we ask if you come follow the rules and just like Tom, Terrence, Tammy, Jen, myself, and our volunteers forget about what is going on in the outside world for a few hours. Hang out and check out all the cool vendors, filmmakers, guests, and Angel the coolest tattoo artist you’ll ever meet. Grossfest is just gonna be a little different than past shows. Remember just be nice to your fellow human in these tough times.)

Well…. we had our last meeting with the George Washington hotel staff and…….This year is going to be one for the record books!

The staff have been super great to us and very accommodating! Big shout out to Lia Capito and her crew for really helping make this event come to life! Thanks to them, this year, to help with social distancing, Grossfest will be taking over the entire hotel! Guests and vendors will be spread out throughout different ballrooms to help with social distancing! Each table will be spread 6ft apart as well as we will monitor how many people will be going in to each room to respect people’s social distance.

Award winning head chef of the George Washington hotel James a. Warcholak, will be on hand cooking up some tasty brain tacos for all of us! (I’m being serious, you read that right!) if that is not your thing, there will be other things as well! Menu will be posted soon!

There will be a bar on each level of the hotel for everyone to enjoy!

Second, the movie room will be going both days! We have a lot of cool movies playing this year. Again, to help with social distancing, only a certain amount of people will be allowed in the movie room at one time. To help with that, we will play a couple of movies on Sunday for those who may not be able to get in on Saturday

The hotel and our main goal is to keep everyone safe while we try to show you a good time. If you are sick, please stay home. There will be temperature checks at the door before you enter the show. Also as per the hotel and state , masks are mandatory! They must be worn all day. The only exception is when eating and taking pics. If you are caught without a mask and refuse to comply, you will be asked to leave with no refund. We know this is a touchy subject for some but we must do what is best for everyone and also what the hotel and state are requiring . We are in this together and we want everyone safe!

There will be hand sanitizer throughout the hotel and we recommend fist bumps when greeting each other.

As for pictures, it will be up to the guest or vendor to determine how comfortable they are with pictures.

Table pics are still a go, as long as everyone is comfortable with it.

Lastly, we want everyone to have fun and relax. We have a lot of great vendors and guests this year. This year is gonna be very unique, so bear with us as we all try and make the best out of a situation that is out of our control.

Thank you to everyone and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to answer you! See you soon!

This week we return to see what’s been happening in movie land… And the answer is not much.  So, we decide to talk to about a flick where a pyromaniac builds a fireproof murder cellar in an old house in DON’T GO IN THE HOUSE.  Then Tim chats about a flick where someone finds Dr. Herbert Wests’ reagent and gives it to a T. Rex and a bootleg Brian Bosworth and a few expendable mercs show up to fight it in a wack-a-doo flick called JURASSIC DEAD.  We also talk about the week’s movie watching habits, news, and all forms of other types of bullshit.

Tales of the weird abound in this episode.  Tales from the first annual GROSSFEST!  Yes folks… it started as a joke and ended as a damn good time had by all.  Wanna know if Tim fought a CHUD?  Wanna know how many smokes Tom Gross smoked?  Wanna know the whereabouts of Kyle’s lost keys? Well listen to this show as it’s the round-up of all the sights and smells that was GROSSFEST!  We have all the normal movie chat to,  you know… if your into that kind of stuff.
