The next Grossfest announcement

0

For our next announcement is possibly one of the most interesting independent filmmakers I have had the pleasure of meeting and his work is amazing. This person dabbles in all phases of filmmaking and has directed over 25 movies so far. This filmmaker has made a holiday film “Easter Casket” to something completely unusual in “Her Name Was Torment 1 and 2” to one of my favorite independent horror films of all time in “The Puppet Monster Massacre”. He is currently working on the film “Slaughterhouse Slumber Party”. It absolutely makes me ecstatic to introduce yinz to a multi-talented filmmaker in Dustin Wayde Mills!

Well Grossfest fans and vendors it is the announcement you have been waiting for… Grossfest 2: The Grossening, The Gross Return, The Gross Revenge, Gross the C.H.U.D., The Devil’s Gross, you get the picture folks. It happens Saturday, July 20, 2019! So yinz start making reservations now and get your vendor tables now.

So we have bad news, awesome news… Bad news is we had to change venues because the general manager of The George Washington Hotel and us Grossfest crew could not come to an agreement. Awww… but ready for the awesome news? We found a new home almost immediately with a big thank you going to ‘The Bootleg’ Gross Jennie Lynn.  As Tom and Terrence checked out the venue and it’s a done deal! With the success of Grossfest the great word of mouth of the event has been heard. The new venue is:

DoubleTree Hotel

340 Racetrack Rd.

Washington, Pa. 15301

1-724-222-6200

http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/hotels/pennsylvania/doubletree-by-hilton-hotel-pittsburgh-meadow-lands-PITMPDT/index.html

We have a hotel block once again and rooms are $119 plus tax.

Also people we didn’t go far from the original location (We like Washington, Pa. and they like us) but bar and restaurant will be open the whole time during the convention, plus the casino is only a short walk away, also for the out-of-towners always interested Primanti’s is a block or so away, plus this location is about a ½ mile from the exit off of I-79 and about a half mile or so from Route 19.

Once again we will have a great vendor room and movie room. But even better news people tickets are still only $10 for admission and vendor tables are still $50 each. VENDORS DON’T HESITATE to get your space. We sold out for our first show!

Stay tuned for upcoming guest announcements as we begin our process of putting together another fun independent film convention. And again thank yinz all for the support! #grossfest #grossfest2019

Guest announcement for Grossfest 2018!

0

For our next guest announcement for Grossfest we wanted someone that may haven’t been to the area or someone that isn’t a convention regular or just someone yinz may not be expecting… maybe a known figure among Indy gorehounds so I introduce yinz to writer/director Brian Paulin! Mr. Paulin might be best known for such independent hit films “Bone Sickness” and “Fetus” but I remember this good man when I first seen the 2000’s “At Dawn They Sleep”. My review of the film wasn’t favorable but believed Mr. Paulin had the passion and drive to make some cool scary features. And Brian has as his films punch you in the face with amazing and possibly disturbing to some folks gore effects… I have yet to see his latest films “Blood Pigs” and “Cryptic Plasm” but the covers will bring out the teenage metalhead inside of you. Brian is the founder of Morbid Vision Films and we are proud to have him at our show. http://www.morbidvisionfilms.com

Next guest for Grossfest is…

For our seventh guest announcement for Grossfest is a filmmaker, actor, producer who I have known since he was a teenager. This person is more of your “outside of the box non-traditional” independent filmmaker. His movies have their own rules, he doesn’t stick to one genre, and I have absolutely loved it every step of the way. Most filmmakers having lower or no budgets for their projects would hold them back? This filmmaker thrives on it by using imagination, talented friends and actors, and brilliant writing. “Wolfster, Part 1: The Curse of the Emo Vamp, Basic Slaughter, The Slasher Hunter, Everyone Must Die!, Super Task Force One, Captain Z & the Terror of Leviathan, Red Christmas, The Survivors, CarousHELL” are some of his films he has made over the past decade. With great respect, absolute delight, and there is no way I could not have ask this person to be a part of Grossfest: I introduce you to the charming and handsome Steve Rudzinski! Steve’s recent “CarousHELL” film like “The Barn” is one of my favorite independent films that I have had the pleasure of watching in my lifetime. Like “The Barn” dudes it would not surprise me to see Steve move on to bigger things soon… Next up for Steve “A Meowy Christmas”.

We’ve had a ton of people ask us about the cool glasses we printed for last year’s 15th Anniversary Show. It wouldn’t be right to reprint them since they were designed as a limited collectible but we did work up another all …new design that we will be getting printed in time for the Fall show. They’ll be limited as well, but we promise to print up a few more than last year. In the meantime, the new glass artwork is posted with this post so everyone can check it out.

Passes are naturally on sale now and you can still get a 3-Day Pass for only $40, which also gets you into the show at 4pm on Friday for no additional charge. You can grab your passes on line at: http://www.cinemawasteland.com/cinemashow/ticket.html
