And yet another Grossfest 2026 guest announcement

This young starlet had a weird several month period in 2025 that side tracked her life and career that caused a late minute cancelation for Grossfest last year. Now back on track of her complete domination of not just being a star in the independent genre but someone Indie fans will always remember as her drive and confidence in the amazing film work she does is remarkable. She continues to branch out in writing and directing as we hope Grossfest 2026 will be even bigger because of her presence we can only be talking about Morrigan Thompson-Milam!

We have a returning guest for Grossfest 2026… but this isn’t just any returning guest as the QUEEN HAS RETURNED TO PITTSBURGH! Yes Grossfest fans this wonderful talent isn’t just a pretty face in the independent filmmaking crowd. You would know her as a director, a producer, a writer, editor, or some would know her as THE QUEEN OF SCREAMS. Her anthology film “Body Count” that played at Grossfest two years ago pretty much cemented she is a force that people must take notice of in the independent genre but we know her as the absolutely entertaining talent… Jenn Nangle!

First Grossfest 2026 guest announcement!

0

For our first guest announcement for Grossfest 2026 it only makes sense to have someone whose career that started in the mid-80s and hasn’t slowed down a damn bit! Projects like “Goblin”, “Zombie Rampage”, and “Sorority Babes in the Dance-A-Thon of Death” were Indie cult classics among video store nerds. Hard to find films that were talked about like myths around a campfire at summer camp until a little project he made “Zombie Bloodbath” hit the scene in 1993. His name was soon mentioned with the likes of the Polonia Brothers, Donald Farmer, Jon McBride, etc. As the 2000s came his career may have seem to slow down a little but that was just this legendary (I don’t say that lightly) talent gearing up for the second stage of his career that gave such weird and wild horror titles: “House of Forbidden Secrets”, “Dreaming Purple Neon”, and “Bonehill Road” with him not slowing down as it seems his career is now running on more caffeine than most humans have in their life we have the pleasure to introduce to Grossfest fans… the man, the myth, the legend… TODD F’N SHEETS!

Wally Meets Popeye review!

0

Wally Meets Popeye (DVD) – So leave it to the talented Indy filmmaker Steve Rudzinski to decide a fourth Popeye movie was needed in 2025! Wally Griswald returns in this feature where he has won another trip but this time to the island of…  Ohio? If you are a fan of Steve’s work you know the Wally character has been through a lot including Amityville (which there is a quick joke or two thrown in at the beginning). If you don’t know of Steve’s great filmography and like me must watch all the Popeye films, buckle up kids because this plays out like a live action old Scooby-Doo adventure without the dog and the gang! Wally excited for another free trip that somehow he has randomly won finds himself back on the detective job because of a green monster that has scared everyone away from the tropical island of Ohio. Years ago the same thing happened and the monster suddenly disappeared with help of an outsider. Now Steve and his buddy Rick who also just happens to be vacationing on the island need the help from the island’s famous sailor man Popeye. Popeye knowing of the monster has led him to convince the love of his life Olive Oyl to jump on his boat and travel to the other side of the island once he fixes it? Popeye knows all about this “Dawn Monster” legend because it keeps running away from him during fights. Its clear Popeye and the two detectives must team up to stop the reign of terror! Clarence Seybert III as Popeye and Carly Sonafelt Olive Oyl was some of the best casting of an Indy feature I have seen in years as their chemistry and handle of the characters jumps off the screen. Also there is this hilarious off script or maybe on script rant in the middle of the film between Wally and Rick that had me in almost tears laughing. Steve and crew made sure this tight low budget feature didn’t overstay its welcome, was an ass load of fun, entertaining as hell, and made sure its main characters Popeye and Olive were beyond exceptional so thanks to Steve not just continuing the “Wally” universe but giving another reason why Indy film fans should pay attention to the excellent work Mr. Rudzinski continues to do as I give this exciting project 3 ½ out of 4 stars.
