Midnight Syndicate Darkened Corners review

So the Midnight Syndicate guys are back at it again with this EP full of unreleased and rare tracks that will send any hardcore horror enthusiast aching to order this in time for their Halloween festivities! This EP mix is a brilliant and delightful collection that makes you lose yourself in their story without ever speaking a word… Their music transforms your brain almost instantly into thinking a wonderful horror film is beginning in the background or tricks you into believing you are listening to one bad ass audio book you never knew you actually owned. The beauty of Edward Douglas and Gavin Goska’s work is as different as the tracks are they blend so well together taking you from one dark and dreary dreamscape to the next as you thirst for the next note of music. For me their talent is like no other as their music from one project to the next project dare composers of this genre to literally come up with perfection to even dare to be in the conversation with what Midnight Syndicate has composed. So for that matter if you haven’t noticed this EP is some serious s%$t  and it would literally be a mistake not ordering a copy right now as I give this horrifying beauty 4 out of 4 stars!

Press Release for Midnight Syndicate CD: Darkened Corners

Gothic horror instrumental and Halloween music composers, Midnight Syndicate have released an EP of previously unreleased and rare material spanning a period of twenty years entitled DARKENED CORNERS.

With album artwork by French artist Pascal Casolari, the EP features music the band has composed for amusement parks and theme parks, as well tracks from their live shows. It also includes a remix of a song from the score to their horror film THE DEAD MATTER (2010) and unreleased music written for various film projects that have yet to be fully realized. “We’ve wanted to share this material and make it more readily available for a while now. It gives fans a glimpse into the some of the other projects we’ve undertaken when not working on studio albums.”

Midnight Syndicate recently completed the original score for Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas, the first year-round horror experience from Universal Destinations & Experiences. The band is currently working their next full-length album, slated for release in 2026.

“This next album has been in development for a while now,” said Edward Douglas. “We’re really happy with the direction it’s heading and are looking forward to next year. In the meantime, we hope DARKENED CORNERS gives everyone a few more tracks to consider for their Halloween listening this season.”

Zombies!!! Official Board Game Soundtrack is sweet nectar for the ears…

0

When I sit here and think about it, who in the hell would make music for a board game? Then I see the name on the package and the CD sent to me and it all makes sense: Midnight Syndicate! Why do I say that because hands down these guys abso-fucking-lutely make some of the best music for movies and general creepy music for horror movie lovers for the past decade? The older horror board games “Nightmare” and “Atmosphere” are stirring in their board game graves in jealousy right now. The soundtrack has that right amount of dark, creepy, Goth sound that would scare teens playing the game and make older horror gamers smile with delight. Personally, I believe the soundtrack is so good I would love to see this music matched up with a zombie flick. Filmmakers always ask me what they can do better with their film. Answer is music and this soundtrack proves once again you need to get some money and hire Midnight Syndicate because they are the best around. I do not play board games much these days but this soundtrack makes me want to own the “Zombies!!!” board game and for that I give Midnight Syndicate’s latest creation 4 out of 4 stars. Midnight Syndicate gets a jump on the holiday season with their new creepy soundtrack!

By Tim Gross

 Christmas gathering

Midnight Syndicate no longer needs an introduction as for me they are a godsend for horror soundtracks. They meaning Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka have made soundtracks a beautiful art form. They have taken soundtracks to a whole new level constantly with every new release and this new CD “Christmas: A Ghostly Gathering” is no different. As like before their creepy but elegant music is like a dream, an escape that has you the listener and your mind captured from the first note of “Christmas Overture” to the last note of their bonus track “Christmas at Midnight”. Midnight Syndicate’s music is able to take you too many places within seconds because the music is not just beautiful and perfect but mesmerizing. This latest CD not only gets the heart pumping for the Halloween season but makes even the darkest and deepest soulless individual excited for the Christmas season. I really enjoyed track three: Carol of the Bees and track seven: Up on the Rooftop. As usual I give Midnight Syndicate’s music 4 out of 4 stars. So do yourself a favor and start the shopping early at www.midnightsyndicate.com . You will not be disappointed and the horror friends you are shopping for won’t either!

Top-selling Halloween composers Midnight Syndicate take on Yuletide classics with the release of their Christmas: A Ghostly Gathering album

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Sept. 10, 2015) – For over 18 years, the music of gothic instrumental composers Midnight Syndicate has been used to set the atmosphere in haunted attractions, amusement parks, stores, and homes worldwide during the Halloween season.  Now, with Christmas: A Ghostly Gathering, listeners will find out what happens when Midnight Syndicate takes them on a Yuletide-inspired musical journey.  The CD version of the album was released today, with the digital version becoming available on Thursday, October 1st.

The new album features the band’s unique twist on classic holiday carols blended with new and original material.  “Our goal was to treat each song in a way that would merge familiarity with originality,” said Gavin Goszka. “There are definitely recognizable elements, but plenty of additional original material as well. It also incorporates the widest instrument palette we’ve used to date and represents what we consider to be the most varied collection of songs we’ve ever released. There are serenely beautiful moments here alongside more intense, darker tracks, and the end result is a thoroughly compelling and involving listening experience.” “With so many Christmas-themed albums out there, we wanted to make this collection uniquely our own,” added Edward Douglas. “I think we were able to do that.”
